Caserta, Domitio Coast and Campania Felix

Terra di Lavoro Mappa

The north-western territory of Campania, included in this tourist area, extends from Caserta, in the east, to the Domitio coast, in the west, in the stretch between Varcaturo, a hamlet of the municipality of Giugliano in Campania (NA), and Lazio. In the middle, the Campania plain interrupted only by Monte Massico that from the slopes of the extinct volcano of Roccamonfina reaches the Tyrrhenian coast dividing Mondragone from Cellole and its seaside villages.

The main attraction of this area is the sea with a shallow and sandy seabed that is well suited to the needs of families with children. The resorts are quite quiet and, although there are still degraded areas, the whole coast is the subject of a strong reclamation and redevelopment work that has resumed to attract tourists from outside the region. The area also offers some of the regional food and wine excellences such as DOP buffalo mozzarella and Falerno del Massico DOC.

Moving inland flat, you will find, then, real treasure chests of art and history such as Sessa Aurunca, Capua, Santa Maria Capua Vetere, Carditello and, of course, Caserta with its splendid Bourbon Palace.
